A 76-year-old resident of Parma was killed in a head-on crash Wednesday morning, according to Idaho State Police.

The crash, which occurred north of Parma and about 5 miles south of Interstate 84 in Payette County, happened at about 8:41 a.m. on U.S. Highway 95.

A northbound 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by the 76-year-old, collided head-on with a 2021 Freightliner tractor-trailer that was heading south and was driven by a 32-year-old male from Los Angeles, ISP said in a news release. The Silverado driver died at the scene.

A third vehicle, a semi-truck, swerved off the road and avoided making contact with either vehicle, police told the Idaho Statesman by phone.

U.S. 95 was closed for about four hours after the crash. State police are still investigating.
