Heads up, rush hour commuters: Trump is coming to Raleigh Monday. What to know
Commuters, beware: with former President Donald Trump hosting a rally in Raleigh, the usual Monday morning traffic will likely be even worse.
Trump will speak at Monday’s rally at the J.S. Dorton Arena at 10 a.m., with doors opening at 6 a.m., according to the GOP presidential candidate’s campaign website. Hillsborough Street could face significant delays from crowds traveling to and from the rally.
Monday is the day before Election Day, with Trump facing off against Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump will likely travel during morning rush hour on Interstate 40 from Raleigh-Durham International Airport to the arena, which is on the state fairgrounds.
Drivers in west Raleigh, Cary and Morrisville should be prepared to take alternate routes or face potential delays Monday morning.
The News & Observer has reached out to the Raleigh Police Department for additional information on possible traffic advisories.
