Health Canada doctor discusses children's ibuprofen shortages, gives reassurances

Health Canada chief medical advisor Dr. Supriya Sharma discussed during a press conference on Friday the ongoing shortage of children’s ibuprofen and acetaminophen. She said the reason behind the shortages is an “increase in utilization” over the summer that was higher than the available supply. However, she reassures parents not to panic-buy as Health Canada has worked with manufacturers to produce double or triple the usual amounts they ship to Canada to solve the problem.
