Health officials in New Brunswick report three new cases of COVID-19

FREDERICTON — Health officials in New Brunswick are reporting three new cases of COVID-19 today.

Officials say one case involves someone in their 40s in the Saint John region and two cases are in the Edmundston area, involving someone in their 60s and a person in their 80s.

The province says it has 118 active reported cases and six patients in hospital with the disease, including two in intensive care.

New Brunswick has reported a total of 1,407 cases and 24 deaths linked to the novel coronavirus.

The Edmundston region remains at the "red" pandemic-alert level, under which gyms are closed and in-person dining at restaurants is prohibited.

The rest of New Brunswick is at the lower, "orange" level.
