The early season heat wave is set to break by Wednesday, with a refreshing easterly wind set to knock things down to seasonal by Thursday and Friday. Monday and Tuesday feature the highest risks for pop-up thunderstorms across the region.

TUESDAY

  • The most unstable day across the GTA over the past stretch - if you likely avoided a downpour or thunderstorm on Monday, things might be different Tuesday with storm energy building. Pack waterproof gear for those commuting

  • Still feeling like the upper 30s, but with more cloud cover than Monday, but the winds will ease

WEDNESDAY

  • Once again, another chance of an afternoon thunderstorm across the area, with temperatures knocked back into the upper 20s

  • Cold front works it’s way down from northern Ontario, setting the stage for a less humid Thursday

THURSDAY

  • Real humidex relief, with pleasant cycling temperatures with an easterly wind - keeping the temperatures extremely pleasant due to the lake breeze having the desired effect

  • Very low risk of showers at this point, atmosphere appears to be too dry to support showers

FRIDAY

  • Similar weather conditions to Thursday with temperatures in the low-to-mid 20s

  • Easterly wind continues, compliments of the high pressure system in the northwest, keeping humidity low and the region in a generally stable environment to finish off the week
