Heavy rain and slow-moving thunderstorms expected Friday for Waterloo region
Waterloo region may see heavy rain and slow-moving thunderstorms on Friday, which could cause flooding warns Environment Canada.
The weather agency issued a special weather statement late morning on Friday saying the rain could cause torrential downpours and rainfall amounts of 30 to 60 millimetres.
"Slow-moving thunderstorms could produce locally heavy rainfall today. Rainfall warnings may be issued," the statement says.
The rain is expected to affect Kitchener, Cambridge and the wider Waterloo region.
Drivers are asked to watch out for water pooling on roads and localized flooding is possible in low-lying areas.
