Helsinki Airport Uses Sniffer Dogs to Detect COVID-19

Dogs trained in detecting COVID-19 are working on a pilot program at Helsinki airport to sniff out the illness in seconds based on sweat samples from passengers.

According to the City of Vantaa, passengers arriving from abroad can volunteer to wipe their necks to collect sweat samples and leave the samples in a box.

Behind a wall, a dog trainer collects the samples for the dogs to check. Results are instant, the city said.
