The Hastings Highlands Public Library is offering up a series of Introductory Interest Sessions on several topics over the coming weeks. HHPL CEO and head librarian Wendy Sue Keating talks about these sessions and what to expect from them in the coming weeks.
These Introductory Interest Sessions were posted on the HHPL Facebook page on June 29. The sessions are on Meditation, Journaling, Energy Modalities and Nutritional Awareness.
Keating told The Bancroft Times that Eleanor Cheyne, who also teaches line dancing at the library, offered to host these Introductory Interest Sessions.
“She’s done this before and they were also well received. I think what will make them popular is the fact they will be a one-time, short program, designed to teach or introduce ideas, techniques or methods. You’ll be able to dip your toe into something new without much commitment,” she says.
The session for Meditation already happened on July 14. Keating says that the session went great.
“We had a few people, around five or six, and they all seemed really happy with it!” she says.
The rest of the sessions will be happening at the library on the following dates; Journaling (30 minutes) on July 28 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Energy Modalities (one hour) on Aug. 11 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Nutritional Awareness (one hour) on August 25 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone who is interested in getting more information or attending one of these classes is asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 613-338-2262.
“People are showing interest. If enough interest is shown in any or all of this series, we’ll see how we can expand on them.”
