RCMP in High River are looking for a man whose attempt to rob a convenience store was thwarted by a bystander.

The suspect entered the 7-Eleven convenience store on Monday night, pointed a knife at the cashier and demanded money.

But a customer in the store intervened, shoving the suspect into a door.

The suspect then took off on foot, police said.

He was wearing a white mask, blue jeans, white runners and a fluorescent orange construction jacket with a reflective X.

He appeared to be in his mid 20s, about six foot one, with a medium build, according to police.

It's believed the suspect had two male accomplices.

Anyone with information is asked to call High River RCMP or contact Crime Stoppers.
