High winds, heavy snow causing power outages across province

High winds and heavy snow have caused a series of power outages across southern and eastern Ontario this morning. 

Just after 7 a.m. ET, Hydro One tweeted that a total of 207 outages are affecting almost 45,000 customers.

The closest active outages to the GTA are in Caledon, Caledonia near Hamilton and just north of Stouffville. A large outage in the Orillia area is affecting more than 5,000 Hydro One customers. 

Hydro One is advising its customers to check their outage map for the latest updates. 

Toronto Hydro is reporting no outages as of 6 a.m. ET.
