Full disclosure: If you have a fear of either spiders or snakes then the following video probably isn’t for you.

Still here? Well, if you ever wondered what happens when a snake finds itself trapped in the web of a poisonous spider, you’ve come to the right place.

North Vic Engines, an engine auto body shop in Cobram, Australia, shared this video to their Facebook page of a redback spider squaring off with a baby brown snake. It all took place in the company’s building.

Both species pack a powerful venomous bite, but it appears the snake didn’t stand a chance after it found itself unable to escape the spider’s web. In the video, the redback spider can be seen quickly incapacitating the snake by lowering itself down and delivering a deadly bite.

Since being posted, the now-viral video has been viewed more than 6 million times, but not without some controversy. Several commenters have accused the company of animal cruelty, saying workers trapped the snake with a fish hook to help give the spider an unfair advantage — something the auto body shop denies.

A follow-up video posted on the company’s Facebook page titled, “For all the haters!” seeks to clear up any confusion. It shows yet another brown snake in the same building that also found itself trapped in a redback spider’s web.

The second video also has its fair share of unhappy commenters, who question why the footage was shared to begin with.

Whatever the case, one thing is clear: living in Australia would be absolutely terrifying if you’re squeamish about anything that slithers, crawls or bites.
