Manitoba First Nation house fire kills 3

The number of traffic collisions in rural Alberta over the long weekend was significantly lower than last year, though the number of fatalities and injured remained similar, the RCMP reported Tuesday.

This year, 264 collisions were reported to RCMP, while last year counted 304.

Injury accidents numbered 45 this year, two more than last, while both years saw three fatalities.

Motorcycle accidents this year nearly doubled this year to 12.

So far, five people have been arrested or charged in relation to the collisions, RCMP said.
