Hilaria Baldwin Offers Support to Halyna Hutchins’ Family and ‘My Alec’ After ‘Rust’ Tragedy

Alec Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin, has spoken out after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed by a prop gun fired by Alec on the set of “Rust” last week.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Hilaria echoed her husband’s sentiment that “there are no words” to adequately sum up the emotions everyone is feeling after the tragic accident. She also took the opportunity to extend her sympathies to Hutchins’ family.

“My heart is with Halyna,” Hilaria wrote. “Her husband. Her son. Their family and loved ones. And my Alec. It’s said, ‘there are no words’ because it’s impossible to express the shock and the heartache of such a tragic accident. Heartbreak. Loss. Support.”

Last Thursday, a prop gun discharged by Alec struck and killed Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza on the set of “Rust” in New Mexico. Reports indicate that Alec was under the impression that he was using a “cold gun” at the time, which means there was no live ammo for it to fire. A search warrant revealed that the gun discharged while Alec was rehearsing a scene in which he was “pointing the revolver towards the camera lens.”

On Friday, Alec Baldwin posted his own statement on Twitter, writing: “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”
