It looks like viewers weren't the only ones who noticed something off about A Cinderella Story.

Whether you've seen the iconic film just once or hundreds of times, there's probably a question that has popped in your head while watching: How did Austin Ames not notice that it was Sam under that small mask?

No, seriously?! How did he not know. He knew who she was (at least as Diner Girl) and seemed really eager to find out who his mystery girl was. How wasn't he able to put it all together to figure out it was her. Well, Hilary Duff is also trying to figure out the answer to that question.

"That is so funny," Hilary told Cosmopolitan UK when asked about the plot hole. "Maybe he got hit in the head too many times during football?"

It's a good thing he didn't notice at first or else the movie would have been done real quick, but it's still kind of surprising that he wasn't able to tell right away. Hilary also revealed her confusion over her character's dress for the ball. Just like the original version of the fairy tale, Sam wore a white ball gown, instead of the better known blue dress from the Disney animated version.

"Cinderella did NOT wear a wedding dress," she said. "That was fully a wedding dress. Where did she get that thing?!"

At least we can finally go to bed at night knowing that Hilary Duff is just as confused as we are about these things.
