Pop Smoke death: 50 Cent and Nicki Minaj lead tributes to 20-year-old rapper
Tributes have been paid to 20-year-old rapper Pop Smoke, who is believed to have been “shot and killed” in a suspected armed burglary.
According to Los Angeles police, a number of masked men broke into a property in the Hollywood Hills.
Pop Smoke, whose real name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, was at a house in the Hollywood Hills at approximately 4:30am when two men broke in, according to TMZ.
DJs and producers have been remembering Pop Smoke on Twitter and Instagram.
British rapper and singer Lady Leshurr said: “Wow RIP Pop Smoke!! He was just getting started!! Envious people!! Sometimes success can really be your downfall which is so not fair!!”
She added: “Something really strange is happening in the air..everyone keeps dying unexpectedly it’s so sad”.
