Hoda Kotb Reveals Her Daughter Asked Why Travis Kelce Pushed Andy Reid During Super Bowl 2024
"My daughter said, 'Why did he do that?' " the mom of two said of the moment during Monday's episode of 'Today with Hoda and Jenna'
Hoda Kotb is sharing a teaching moment she had with her two daughters after watching the Super Bowl on Sunday.
On Monday's episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, the mom of two, 59, talked with co-host Jenna Bush Hager, 42, about watching the Super Bowl with her daughters Hope, 4, and Haley, 6. Her daughters, who are big Taylor Swift fans, watched the game in support of Travis Kelce, but they were concerned after seeing some confusing behavior from the tight end, 34, on the field.
"One of the things they didn't like happened on the sidelines and my daughter asked when Travis Kelce pushed his coach, my daughter said, 'Why did he do that?'" Kotb said.

"Like why did he push that older man? But anyway it was one of those ... he was frustrated he wasn't in the game, whatever, there was a fumble, all that frustration. But all a little kid saw was strong guy pushing an older man."
"I know, you know what? I'm with Haley," Bush Hager agreed. "I was the Haley of that situation, I kept asking Henry, 'What's happening here? You want to be a team and part of being a team is you respect the coach. It's sportsmanship. And I was trying to teach my kids that."
Kotb added, "Yeah, and it's weird because I don't think so many young girls have been into football until this game. I don't know that my daughters would've been watching it."
The two agreed that many young girls were watching the game for Kelce, who is currently dating Swift, 34.
"And by the way, Nickelodeon played it because my eldest, Mila, went to a Super Bowl party," Bush Hager shared.
Speaking to reporters during a press conference following the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl win, Kelce declined to reveal what he said to his coach, Andy Reid, during the heated moment on the sidelines.
“You guys saw that? I’m going to keep it between us unless my mic’d up tells the world," Kelce said per the Associated Press, before joking, "I was just telling him how much I loved him.”
