Who holds onto the longest-setting September sun?
You may feel like the long days of summer are slowly slipping away.
By the first of September, the nation's capital sees the sunrise at 6:24 a.m. and sets at 7:40 p.m. As the month goes on, Ottawa loses three minutes of daylight every single day.
However, if we look further north in Fort McMurray, for example, on September 1st, the sun is rising around 6:28 a.m. but not setting until 8:21 a.m. Whitehorse has it even better with a sunset at 9:05 p.m. The further north you are, the longer you hold onto that later setting sun!
Dawson City, Yukon, will see the sunset at 9:32 p.m. on the first of September.
Watch the video above to see how quickly daylight drops as we head closer to October.
