Hollyoaks star Bobby Gordon has revealed he was "blown away" by the recent shock storyline where his character Toby Faroe killed Lisa Loveday.

Viewers were led to believe the figure Toby attacked could be Mitchell Deveraux, but Toby was horrified to discover it was actually Lisa (Rachel Adedeji) that he'd killed and he and his sister Celeste (Andrea Ali) quickly attempted to cover it up.

The actor said he wasn't expecting the storyline at all, but he was "excited" by the shocking twist.

"I was not expecting it at all – and I was blown away that I was killing Lisa," he told Inside Soap.

"I had my first scene with Rachel when I joined the show.

"After I heard about the plot, I was excited, but at the same time it was daunting because it's Lisa – she's a big character.

"It sounds strange, although that scene was probably one of the best I've done in my life."

Mitchell may well have had a lucky escape at the hands of Toby, but he could be in danger again when the details of his traumatic childhood look set to be exposed.

Pages from 'The Red Door' – the experimental book written about Toby and Celeste as children – fall into the hands of Mitchell and Toby is furious.

He resorts to inviting Mitchell to his flat to "discuss the book" but it seems that he has a more sinister plan in mind for his brother.

Hollyoaks airs weekdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes at 7pm on E4.
