Hollyoaks stars Ross Adams and Jorgie Porter recreate iconic Nana McQueen line from Favourites episode

From Digital Spy

Hollyoaks may not be airing new episodes five nights a week at present, but it's already clear that the decision to air key episodes from over the years has proven a hit with viewers.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Hollyoaks has suspended filming on new episodes, and confirmed that it would be airing reruns of old episodes on E4 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to help keep the soap on air for longer.

The Hollyoaks Favourites episodes are being presented by Kieron Richardson and Jorgie Porter, and this week viewers are getting the chance to re-live Mercedes McQueen's (Jennifer Metcalfe) wedding to Dr Browning.

Tonight (April 2) saw E4 air the first episode of a two-parter, following the build-up to Mercedes' fourth wedding, and it seems even the soap's stars Ross Adams, who plays Scott Drinkwell, and Jorgie Porter, who played Theresa McQueen, couldn't resist watching (and playing) along.

In the episode, Nana McQueen (Diane Langton) was helping to beautify Mercedes ahead of her trip down the aisle, and offered her granddaughter some of her lingerie to uphold the time-honoured 'Something Old, Something New' wedding tradition.

"It's old, borrowed, and very, very blue," Nana told her.

Needless to say, Mercedes wasn't too pleased by the offer – but Ross and Jorgie were quick to recreate the moment on their TikTok pages, which were later shared by the official Hollyoaks Twitter account.

First up was Ross, who even showed off the blue lingerie in question in his clip:

And then it was Jorgie's turn, who wasted no time in channelling her near 10 years of McQueen sassiness into her video:

The Hollyoaks Favourites episodes will continue with more from Mercedes and Dr Browning's wedding tomorrow night (April 3) on E4, before continuing on with some big showdowns in next week's throwbacks.

Wednesday (April 8) will see Cameron hold the Lomax family hostage, while Thursday (April 8) will re-live the moment that Lindsey Roscoe met her match in Silas Blissett. The week then ends with an episode from last year on Friday (April 9), as Sienna, Sinead and Diane all fight back against evil Laurie Shelby.

Hollyoaks airs Mondays-Wednesdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and from April 6, it will air on Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm. First-look episodes will air on E4 at 7pm.
