Fire destroys house under renovation in Nobleton, 10 to 15 homes evacuated

A large fire destroyed a house under renovation in Nobleton overnight and fire crews evacuated 10 to 15 homes as a precaution.

Firefighters received a call at 11:30 p.m. on Monday about the blaze in the community northwest of Toronto in King Township.

No one was injured in the fire on Robinson Road, near King Road and Highway 27.

When fire crews arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and the fire had already spread to a neighbouring home.

The blaze extensively damaged the second house after flames spread into a roof area.

About 50 firefighters from all three King Township stations responded to the call.

As of 5 a.m. on Tuesday, crews were still trying to put out hot spots.

York Regional Paramedics were seen assessing several firefighters on scene.

Ontario's Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which is not yet known.
