A short time later, Calgary police were called to Bowness, where a seriously injured man had approached a stranger for help, before running away.

Police searched the area and eventually located the man in the 4600 block of 73rd Street N.W., and determined that the man in his 40s was one of the suspects in the home invasion.

The man had multiple traumatic injuries, and was taken to hospital in what police describe as serious condition.

Police are still trying to identify and locate the second suspect in what they are calling a targeted home invasion.

The investigation is ongoing.
