Man found dead with gunshot wounds outside Scarborough school ID'd as Dylan Greenaway, 21

Toronto police have identified a man whose body was found Thursday in the parking lot of a Scarborough public school as Dylan Greenaway, 21.

Greenaway was found without vital signs and with traumatic injuries to the head outside Alvin Curling Public School just before 8 a.m.

Police said in a release that he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on scene.

Homicide detectives are overseeing the investigation but have yet to release any information about potential suspects.

The Toronto District School Board says no students were at the school on Thursday because of March break.

The school does have security cameras, and a spokesperson said any footage of the incident will be handed over to police.

One neighbour contacted by CBC Toronto said officers who knocked on her door this morning asked if she had heard any gunshots.

Earlier Thursday, police also blocked off an area near a home on Meandering Trail, just a five minute walk from the school. It's unclear at this time how the two scenes are linked.

Police also cordoned off the area at Upper Rouge Trail and Antelope Drive, near Sheppard Avenue East and Morningside Avenue on the fringe of the Rouge Park.

A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for Mar. 17.

Greenaway is Toronto's 12th homicide victim of the year.
