Just outside Laurel city limits, the 2,436-square-foot house sits on a quiet, dead-end street and features three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Built in 1968, the split-level home was in need of some major upgrades before Ben and Erin's longtime family friends, Dawn and Michael Trest, moved into it. Dubbed the "Trest house," its renovation was featured on episode 9.

Ben and Erin transformed this dated home into a super cozy space. Ben got rid of the carport attached to the front of the house. "We wanted to give you a nice outdoor space," Erin told the Trests on the show, noting that the towering tree in the front yard keeps that area shaded.

Inside the home, the Napiers knocked down walls to open up space in the entryway. "It changed everything about the way coming in felt," Michael says of the reno during the episode. The design duo upgraded the kitchen with new finishes, including granite countertops and subway tile backsplash. They also installed cabinets that Ben called some of his favorites.

Across the kitchen, the Napiers added a new built-in with a breakfast nook and plenty of storage space. In the living room, they replaced a brick wall with shelves and a fireplace with a wood burning stove. Ben also added faux beams to the ceiling, which draws your eye to the fireplace.

Other standout features include the home's hardwood floors and more living space downstairs. Plus, the house is surrounded by lush greenery and plenty of outdoor space.
