‘Mariah’s World’ Recap: How Her Relationship With Billionaire Began to Fall Apart
On the series premiere of Mariah’s World, we saw the first sign of how Mariah Carey’s relationship with Australian billionaire James Packer fell apart. With her new manager, Stella Bulochnikov, Carey discussed postponing the wedding to focus on planning her European tour.
“This is a hard decision to make. I’m not sitting around like, oh, I’ll just blow off the wedding,” Carey said. “I’m sitting here going, ‘How am I supposed to fulfill my professional obligations and not disappoint James?'”
We know now that Carey’s decision to postpone the wedding may have been just the beginning of the end of her engagement to the Aussie.
“He’s waiting for me to figure it out. Like, when we’re gonna do it and how we’re gonna do it, and all that,” Mariah told her manager, who replied, “You can have an amazing mega tour and then come back and we’ll plan the sickest wedding.”
Mariah’s World airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on E.
