Howard Stern and wife Beth renew their vows during surprise wedding on ‘Ellen’

Howard Stern’s first-ever appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show didn’t disappoint. Not only did the unpredictable radio personality share an extended liplock with the talk show host, but he went on to have an impromptu second wedding with his wife, Beth Stern.

Stern wasted no time bringing up the controversy around DeGeneres chatting up former President George W. Bush last week. He suggested that to bump the headline from the news cycle, they make bigger news by making out.

"Once people see me with you, no one's going to be thinking about George Bush,” he reasoned.

While a look of shock initially froze DeGeneres’s face, she agreed, but only after setting the ground rule of “no tongue.” Prior to the kiss, they also went over the last male the openly lesbian talk show host, who’s married to Portia de Rossi, kissed on the lips. She said either Colin Farrell or Leonardo DiCaprio. Then — as Beth looked on laughing — Stern leaned in for the kiss.

"This is the picture that's going to make America forget that you were sitting next to George W. Bush,” Stern said, adding, "You're so smart to do this."

As they finished — amid cheers from the audience — Stern jokingly told the crowd that DeGeneres tried to French kiss him. She shot back, “There was no tongue. No, no! There was no tongue.”

DeGeneres later got Stern to kiss his wife on the show too — all because she orchestrated a vow renewal for the pair, who were first married in 2008.

Last week, Stern proposed to Beth again on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, so DeGeneres surprised them with a flower-adorned altar and The Bachelor’s Colton Underwood as an officiant.

“I have someone here that I got ordained today to be able to marry you right now,” DeGeneres said, “I know you’re both fans of The Bachelor, so, ladies and gentlemen, Colton [is here].”

While Stern took a jab at Underwood, saying he’s got to get a job, he went on to let him remarry him to the author and animal activist.

“I so want to marry you,” Stern told Beth, “and I vow to you if you remarry me, I promise for the rest of my life to watch The Bachelor with you in bed every single night — and Bachelor in Paradise.”

The couple shared a kiss to make it official.

Funny enough, that wasn’t their first celebrity wedding officiant. When the pair, together since 2000, married for the first time, Riverdale actor Mark Consuelos, who is also the husband of Kelly Ripa, oversaw the ceremony.
