Hugh Grant Says He Doesn’t ‘Really Remember’ Donald Trump Being in “Two Weeks Notice”: ‘Didn’t Register’
The former president appeared as himself in the 2002 romantic comedy, which also starred Sandra Bullock
Hugh Grant doesn't think Donald Trump will be remembered for his acting chops.
During an Oct. 4 appearance on The Graham Norton Show to promote his upcoming movie Heretic, the Wonka actor, 64, joked that the former president, 78, "always wanted to be in my stuff" when Trump was mentioned.
"He played a bit part as himself in a romantic comedy I did with Sandra Bullock," Grant continued, referring to 2002's Two Weeks Notice. "But the fact is that I don't really remember him very well. The night he came, I had a bet with Sandy that I could make the chairman of Warner Bros. cry by 9 p.m."
"And I was completely focused on that. It's quite a big bet. She didn't believe I could do it, but I did it," Grant recalled, adding that the chairman was "in floods of tears" by 8:30 p.m.

"So I'm afraid Donald Trump didn't really register," Grant said.
When Norton, 61, asked Grant if the former president was nice to him, the actor replied, "All I remember is that a day or two afterward I got a call to say, 'You've been made a member of Trump National New York,' " which Grant brushed off.
"I don't remember him greatly as a person," he concluded.
In Two Weeks Notice, Trump and Grant's character George Wade share a scene where they chat briefly at an event about Bullock's character Lucy Kelson. Mike Piazza and Norah Jones also appear as themselves in the rom-com.

Though Trump served as president from 2017 to 2021, he is also known for his cameo in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. The film's director, Chris Columbus, told Insider in 2020 that in order to film at the Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time, the Apprentice host required a cameo.
"Trump said okay," Columbus recalled. "We paid the fee, but he also said, 'The only way you can use the Plaza is if I'm in the movie.' "
"So we agreed to put him in the movie, and when we screened it for the first time the oddest thing happened: People cheered when Trump showed up on screen," Columbus continued. "So I said to my editor, 'Leave him in the movie. It's a moment for the audience.' "
