Hugh Jackman urges fans to use sunscreen after fourth bout of skin cancer

Hugh Jackman has revealed his fourth bout of skin cancer, showing his bandaged nose following an treatment. The 47-year-old Wolverine star shared the snap on Instagram on Monday (Feb. 8) as a cautionary warning.

"An example of what happens when you don't wear sunscreen. Basal Cell. The mildest form of cancer but serious, nonetheless. PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular check-ups," he pleaded to his 4.9 million followers.

Hugh Jackman has revealed he has been treated for skin cancer on his nose for the fourth time.

This is by no means the first time that Hugh has used to social media to warn against skin cancer. This was his third post-op photo in three years, and the fourth procedure the star has had on his nose – he was also had skin cancer cells removed from his shoulder.

Hugh was first treated for basal-cell carcinoma in November 2013, after being encouraged by his wife Deborra-Lee Furness to get a mole on his nose checked out.

"Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a basal cell carcinoma. Please don't be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And use sunscreen!!!" he posted on Instagram at the time.

Last year father of two Hugh opened up about his experiences with skin cancer, telling People magazine that he was shocked to learn of his diagnosis.

"It is always a bit of a shock just hearing the word 'cancer'," he said. "Being an Australian it's a very common thing. I never wore sunscreen growing up so I was a prime candidate for it.

"I go every three months for a checkup. It's the new normal for me. My doctor says I'll likely have more, and if that's your cross to bear in life, you should be so lucky."
