Human remains found after Eganville fire

One person's remains have been found after an early Friday morning fire in Eganville, Ont., provincial police say.

OPP officers and local fire crews were called to a home on John Street that was engulfed in flames at around 5:15 a.m. on Aug. 23, according to a Saturday news release.

The remains have not yet been identified, OPP said.

As of late Saturday afternoon, John Street was still blocked off and investigators remained on scene.

The fire is not considered suspicious, police said.

Eganville is approximately 130 kilometres west of downtown Ottawa.
