Hunky firefighter delivers birthday cake to 105-year-old woman

To mark her big day, Ivena Smailes wanted nothing more than a hand delivered cake from a hunky firefighter for her 105th birthday.

And thanks to the local crew at Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service in Crawcrook, England, Smailes’ wish came true.

According to Chronicle Live, a handsome, tattooed fireman used a ladder to climb up to her third-floor window at the senior home to deliver her birthday cake.

“On her bucket list this year she wanted a cake delivered by a fireman with tattoos,” Debra Carter, an employee at the Addison Court Care Home, told Chronicle Live.

“We’ve managed to find one and the fire brigade have been fantastic about it; they were arguing over who was going to climb the ladder and deliver it to her.”

Smailes, who’s known locally as “Auntie Ivy,” was born in 1911 and has lived through both world wars, Metro reports.

In photos posted to Facebook, the birthday girl wasn’t just surprised by one fireman. Instead, the whole crew came along to enjoy her birthday party.

“No one would believe she’s 105, she doesn’t look it and she’s got a fantastic sense of humour,” Carter told Chronicle Live. “She even had her first selfie today to celebrate.”
