BLYTH – The Township of North Huron approved an application from the Huron County coed Slo-Pitch league requesting their application to the AGCO/LCBO for a special occasion permit to hold a beer garden/refreshment area in conjunction with their tournament, scheduled for July 1-2 at the Blyth and District Community Centre, Arena Diamond and Radford Diamond in Blyth.

They also requested the event be exempted from the township’s noise control bylaw, which will allow them to provide the beer garden, including live music, until midnight on Friday, July 1.

A report from Community Engagement Coordinator Denise Lockie said, “The net proceeds from these events are used to support local community improvement initiatives and local charitable organizations. The proceeds from this year’s fundraising event are being allocated to the Avon Maitland District School Board Nutrient Program.”

The Huron County Slo-Pitch League has reviewed all current health conditions required. It has developed the necessary policy and procedures for implementation. The group has also developed a registration and health education plan.
