Hurt Regina cat Bruce Almighty makes encouraging recovery
The Regina Humane Society (RHS) is pleased at the recovery of an abused cat that has captured the hearts of many people in Saskatchewan and beyond.
The cat, nicknamed Bruce Almighty, was found on March 18 with his legs and paws bound in electrical tape.
Veterinarians operated for hours on the three-year-old animal and were concerned that he might have to lose a limb. A GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Bruce Almighty's treatment and the RHS has netted more than $22,000.

On Friday, the RHS posted on Facebook that the healing process is moving along as a granulation bed of connective tissue and blood vessels has started forming on the surface of Bruce Almighty's wounds.
"We continue to be amazed by his resilience and upbeat nature," states the post. "He is now spending parts of his day with RHS staff in their offices. He enjoys the company as well as the extra space."
The RHS is hopeful that the cat will be able to receive new paw pad grafts at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine within the next couple weeks.
However, on Monday veterinarians had to amputate eight of Bruce Almighty's toes.
Animal protection officers are still investigating the case. The public is asked to contact the RHS with any information.
