With ice and snow still on some roads, these KY school districts are canceling Monday classes
With many roads still covered with snow and ice after last week’s major storm, several Kentucky school districts by 11 a.m. Sunday had canceled in-person classes for Monday.
Schools or districts having a traditional snow day Monday with no at-home learning: Carter County, Harlan County, Lee County.
Schools or districts having virtual or at-home learning: Elliott County, Floyd County, Wolfe County, Johnson County, Morgan County, Menifee County, Wolfe County, Wayne County, Fleming County.
In Fayette County, public school students have not returned from winter break yet and had four traditional snow days last week.
Fayette district spokeswoman Dia Davidson-Smith said that on Monday, the district will have an NTI day -- virtual and at home learning.
The National Weather Service said there is a chance of snow flurries through Monday in Lexington with highs between 27 and 32 degrees.
