Igloolik man pleads guilty to threatening RCMP
A 20-year-old Igloolik, Nunavut, man pleaded guilty Thursday to threatening three RCMP officers with a rifle.
On Aug. 7, RCMP were called to a house where Shawn Kappianaq was threatening suicide.
When police arrived, he pointed a rifle at the officers and threatened to kill them. Kappianaq then fled on an ATV, and smashed it into a police truck.

His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Dec. 3 in Iqaluit.
Kappianaq has been in custody at the Baffin Correctional Centre since the incident.
