Manitoba's police watchdog is looking into allegations that two RCMP officers inappropriately touched a female during her arrest.
The arrest happened in October and the female initially filed a complaint with the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission for the RCMP, alleging misconduct by the officers during her time in custody.
Five months later on March 31, the complainant also said she was inappropriately touched by the officers during her arrest. The same day, RCMP notified Manitoba's Independent Investigation Unit, which looks into serious incidents involving police officers in the province.
The IIU said in a news release that their civilian director thought it was in the public interest to have the unit do the investigation.
The Independent Investigation Unit said it won't release any more details about the case while the investigation is underway.
