Impaired charge laid after trucks crash

A 47-year-old Kaministiquia man was charged with impaired driving Wednesday afternoon after two pickup trucks collided near Thunder Bay. Provincial police said officers went to the crash scene on Fowler Township's One Island Road just after 3:30 p.m. No injuries were reported. In addition to the impaired-driving offence, Geoffrey Hall was charged with having a blood-alcohol reading of more than 80 milligrams and having liquor readily available while being in control of a vehicle, a provincial news release said on Friday. Hall, who has been released from custody, is to appear in Thunder Bay court on March 26, the release said. None of the charges have been proven in court.
