Indian fans heartbroken over Cricket World Cup loss
STORY: Chasing a modest 241 for victory thanks to their brilliant bowling display after they had asked Rohit Sharma's team to bat first, Australia reached their target in 43 overs to snap India's 10-match winning streak at the tournament.
The majority of those present in the 132,000 capacity ground sat in deathly silence as the home team, who had won 10 matches in a row to make the final, succumbed to their first loss of the tournament in the all-important summit clash.
"It happens sometimes. They won 10 out of 11 games. They've won the hearts. India have won our hearts. But, anyways we'll come back after four years and will win for sure" said Indian fan Ankit Shah after the loss.
Dileep Singh Chahuan was more critical of his squad. "I am more angry than disappointed that you lose when it matters the most. The team loses aggression in important games. They showed no aggression in today's game."
