West End theatres, opera companies and galleries are to stage open-air performances and exhibitions to encourage visitors back to central London.

The Inside Out festival is part of an ongoing effort to increase footfall. Marble Arch, Leicester Square and the Covent Garden Piazza will host events, with performances from West End musicals, the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, and the Royal Philharmonic brass ensemble. An open-air exhibition of replicas from the National Gallery will take place on the North Terrace of Trafalgar Square.

There will also be light projections on Marble Arch and fluorescent installations at Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus, Victoria and at other West End locations.

The festival, from October 1 to 4, will follow social-distancing rules. Visit westminster.gov.uk/insideout for more information.
