The house’s restrained street-facing façade belies the architectural brio that lies beyond.

An enfilade of planters leads visitors through the compact entry sequence into the voluminous great room.

Rising to a height of 22 feet, the extravagant great room has herringbone tile floors with walls and ceilings covered in white gold leaf. The entry table and monumental tansu, one of a pair, are original Richard Himmel pieces refinished by Jackson to integrate gracefully into the contemporary scheme. The Darcy Badiali ceramic sculpture on the table is from JF Chen.

Jackson restored the living room’s original freestanding fireplace, clad in flamed Brazilian granite, and its hanging bronze hood. Himmel’s parchment-clad daybeds are joined by Paul Mathieu throne chairs for Stephanie Odegard and a goatskin-wrapped cocktail table by Karl Springer. The signature Pierre Chareau floor lamp is from JF Chen.

Acrylic stools by Charles Hollis Jones pull up to the bar. The mirror is by Dutch designers Oskar Peet and Sophie Mensen of Studio OS/OOS.

A Sally Sirkin Lewis daybed is nestled in the casual seating area flanked by monumental tansu chests. The side table is by Dakota Jackson.

Sconces by Gregorius Pineo add bold curves to the design scheme.

Jackson surrounded Himmel’s original copper dining table with Studio Van den Akker chairs upholstered in python-patterned leather by Pavoni. The sculpture on the table is by Martha Sturdy, and the painting is by Suzan Woodruff.

Jackson restored the kitchen, including the custom bar stools, to Himmel’s original plans.

In the breakfast room, chairs by Ryan Jackson Home gather around a vintage lacquered table beneath hanging lights by JMW Studio. The mirror is by Sébastien and Nicolas Reese through Galerie Carole Decombe.

The designer paired original tiles with a capiz-shell wall covering in a powder room.

A Ted Abramczyk chandelier through Ralph Pucci hangs above an original Sally Sirkin Lewis bed recovered in Holly Hunt fabric. The bench is a Madeline Stuart design, and the nightstands are by Ryan Jackson Home. An Arte wall covering lines the ceiling cove. The mirror above the bed is by Chen Chen & Kai Williams through the Future Perfect.

Jackson adapted Himmel’s original plans, including the classic lighting scheme of exposed bulbs at the vanity, in the restoration of the primary bath. The large planter is a vintage Mary Kay Austin design for Architectural Pottery, acquired through JF Chen.

An array of vintage Italian sconces acquired through Ma+39 crowns a guest bedroom wrapped in a Romo wall covering with curtains of tiger-striped wool through Holly Hunt. The artwork on the nightstand is by Richard Serra.

A custom mural by ceramic artist Olivia Cognet adorns the pool. Classic Brown Jordan chaises are covered in Perennials fabric.

Jackson added rock sculptures to the pool deck as an organic finishing note.
