Forget slow cookers and pressure cookers. There’s a new trendy cooking appliance that’s been on our radar: the air fryer. Air fryers, with their high-heat engine technology, have the ability to prepare your favourite fried dishes with 90 per cent less oil, and in almost half the time.
Adored by health-junkies and foodies everywhere, this time-saving kitchen good has earned a reputation for effortlessly transforming your guilty-pleasure dishes into healthier alternatives. Sure, it’s good for fries and wings, but many are unaware that it’s also useful for whipping up roast meats and veggies. You can even bake your favourite desserts in it.

More than 16,000 Canadians voted on the latest beauty, health, food, beverage, household, and tech products across 70 different categories. As many as 67 per cent of people said they look for new products that would “make my life easier,” while 66 per cent said it was important that products be formulated following sustainable practices.

The Instant 10-qt Vortex Compact Air Fryer’s topside heating element and motorized fan rapidly circulates the super-hot air so food cooks evenly, and the incredible heat that flows around the dish locks in moisture and gives it that distinct deep-fried taste and texture. Because of the compact size of the cooking chamber and rapid air circulation, cooking time is drastically reduced compared to other cooking methods. The large 10-quart capacity can fit both cooking trays at once, and the roomy rotisserie cage is the perfect tool for easy, frozen bites and snacks.
“Love the entire thing, can cook just about anything in it. Pair it with an Insta Pot and it’s almost all you’ll need,” reads on five-star review. “Only downside is that whole rotisseries don’t fit in it. You can probably do game hens, but it said rotisserie chicken and was really wanting to cook a whole bird. Other than that it is great.
