Integrity Commissioner: No complaints in South Dundas

·1 min read

MORRISBURG – An annual report from the Municipality of South Dundas’ Integrity Commissioner reported no complaints were made in the past year.

Tony Fleming, with Cunningham Swan Lawyers, filed his annual report at the April 25 council meeting. In it, he said there had been no complaints made under the Code of Conduct. No requests for advice from individual members of council were made either in the same 12 month period.

Each municipality in Ontario must appoint an IC in accordance with the Municipal Act. That person’s role is to independently investigate complaints made about elected municipal officials that may contravene that council’s Code of Conduct.

“Members are held to the highest standards of office in their elected positions and we thank all of you for your continued attention to the ethical execution of your duties,” Fleming said in his report.

This is the third report from Fleming in this term of council. No complaints were made in the previous two reports tabled by Fleming.
