Interstate 99 reopens in Centre County after hourslong closure due to crash

A portion of Interstate 99 southbound was closed Wednesday morning in Centre County after a crash in Blair County.

A portion of Interstate 99 southbound was closed Wednesday morning due to a crash.

The Centre County 911 Facebook page posted around 8:15 a.m. that traffic was being rerouted off of the interstate at the Port Matilda exit on I-99 “for an extended ETA.”

The roadway was back open by 11 a.m.

The post stated there was an incident on the Blair County side of the interstate.

Just before 8 a.m., PennDOT’s travel info site said a crash occurred on Interstate 99 southbound, closing all lanes between Exit 61 (Port Matilda) and Exit 52 (To PA 350 - Bald Eagle).
