Inventive Pensioner Turns Her Mobility Scooter Into A Convertible During Rainstorm

Getting caught out in the rain is never fun and we have all used plastic bags, rucksacks and even hands to protect us from the wrath of the gods.

Now this pensioner from Ripon, Yorkshire, took on a rainstorm using her laundry basket as a temporary hood for her mobility scooter.

This no-nonsense approach to rain was caught on a mobile phone camera by plasterer Craig Taylor after he and his workmates spotted the bizarre event.

Craig, from Rotherham, south Yorkshire, said: ‘You know it’s raining badly when you see a pensioner put the roof up on her convertible.

‘She didn’t seem to have a care in the world. There were other people on the street taking cover in shops but she seemed content with the basket.

‘She continued on down the street until she was out of sight. It was quite surreal.’

Needless to say - this lady, believed to be in her 70s, is a true winner.
