Investigation complete, no action required for sexual harassment allegation against councillor Wally Collins

No further action is required following the allegation of sexual harassment against Coun. Wally Collins, according to the City of St. John's.

The city asked lawyer Gerlinde van Driel to investigate the allegation in October 2016.

The investigation was completed with a report filed at the end of February 2017 stating no further action is required in the matter.

"Council has accepted the report in full, agrees with the recommendation and has concluded that no further steps are required," the city said in a statement Wednesday.

"The City of St. John's followed the bylaw and, as directed by [access to information] legislation, will not comment further."
