Motorists who take the Jacques Cartier Bridge to get onto and off the island of Montreal should take note of road closures on the span this weekend.
The bridge will be off limits overnight Sunday night into Monday morning, and there will be lane closures Saturday night.
Lanes will close starting at around 11:30 p.m., and the bridge will be completely closed in both directions on Sunday from midnight until about 4:30 a.m. the next morning.
The night closures will allow for the replacement of bottom chords and braces along the bridge.
On Saturday during the day, one lane will be open toward Montreal and two lanes toward the South Shore, from 4:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. At night, one lane will be open in both directions, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
On Sunday during the day, there will be one lane toward Montreal and two lanes toward the South Shore, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
