Jaiswal Dropped, Chris Gayle Left Out Again – Twitter Has Questions
After Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League on Sunday, 27 September, captain Steve Smith said Jos Buttler and Ankit Rajpoot were replacing David Miller and Yashasvi Jaiswal in their eleven.
KXIP captain KL Rahul said that their side was unchanged which meant West Indies batsman Chris Gayle was going to sit out for the third-straight match this season.
The 18-year-old Jaiswal – Player of the Tournament in the previous U-19 World Cup –had made his IPL debut in Rajasthan’s campaign opener against Chennai Super Kings, but was caught and bowled by Deepak Chahar for 6 (off 6 balls). Twitterati expressed their disappointment at RR’s decision to drop the youngster and not give him another chance.

Worst decision that ankit rajput is playing in place of yashasvi jaiswal.
Rajasthan should give more chance to Jaiswal.— Smit__6.8 (@KathiriyaSmit) September 27, 2020

Very disappointed with Rajasthan Royals dropping Yashasvi Jaiswal after just one match. #IPL2020 #RRvKXIP

I think it’s very hard on Yashasvi Jaiswal to be dropped today. There’s no way Smith should be opening ahead of Jaiswal. And he bowls decent leg-spin too! I’d have dropped Rajpoot or Parag #RR #RRvKXIP #IPL2020

RR not playing with Yashasvi Jaiswal after one match. A bit tough on him. Probably making a strong bowling dept by including Ankit Rajpoot.#RRvKXIP #Dream11IPL

It's so unfortunate to See Rajasthan Royals not backing the Young sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal
I think IPL should be more about backing Youngsters @IamNicck@rajasthanroyals#KXIPvsRR#RRvKXIP— Aditya Pandey (@Tweet_by_Aditya) September 27, 2020
@IamNicck Rajasthan playing with only 4 proper batsmen on a batting friendly wicket ! Poor decision to leave out Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Twitter was also torn on whether it was a good decision for KXIP to leave Gayle out or not, considering the Sunday’s match was being played at Sharjah, which has shorter boundaries on offer. Several asked why the ‘Universe Boss’ wasn’t being included in the starting eleven.
Why Chris Gayle is not playing #starniadgu

What is happening?? Why isn’t Gayle playing 3 games in a row ?? At least tell us the reason @lionsdenkxip @henrygayle #SaddaPunjab
— Sarthak Gupta (@sarthakg107) September 27, 2020
Unbelievable how @henrygayle is continuously dropped. What has Pooran done ...remember this is the guy who got two golden ducks in one match. (Delhi) Chris Gayle is the Universe Boss and brings confidence to the rest of the team.. Fix Up Kings XI.

Smaller Boundaries, a really good batting pitch and yet Chris Gayle isn't a part of the Playing XI. If Gayle fires, he is a player who can 2 times the impact of what Pooran can make! It's a no brainer!@IamNicck @cricbuzz

However, once openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal got KXIP off to a fiery start, some rued on whether the franchise was even going to need the big-hitting Gayle at all this season.
I dont see Chris Gayle getting a game for a while in this Kings XI lineup

Chris Gayle stands no chance in making the KXIP team, bcoz these 2 openers are in scintillating form. #IPL2020

I see now why @henrygayle is not playing.
The way these two are playing....#KXIPvsRR #IPL2020— Broken Cricket Dreams (@cricket_broken) September 27, 2020
Chris Gayle would play 10 dots in the PP and put pressure on Rahul to score quickly and in that process either of them may get out. Also Mayank at 3 doesn't make sense. Gives good start, so Gayle not playing is totally justified and correct decision. #RRvKXIP
