Jamie Schmale among politicians named to Shadow Cabinet

KAWARTHA LAKES: Erin O’Toole recently announced who will hold the Conservative Party’s critic roles on their shadow cabinet.

“As I said throughout the election, there are only two choices for Canadians. Canada’s Conservatives, who will fight to secure the economic prosperity and future of Canada, or the Liberal-NDP coalition, which will be disastrous for the Canadian economy. Today, I am proud to present our Conservative team that will protect and fight to secure Canada’s economic future. Conservatives are the voice of those struggling to make ends meet,” read a statement from the Conservative party leader.

Among those chosen for the shadow cabinet was Kawartha Lakes MP Jamie Schmale, who will be the Shadow Minister for Indigenous Services.

“I’m looking forward to my new role as Shadow Minister for Indigenous Services. This presents an opportunity to expand on the experience I gained while in Crown-Indigenous Relations. The Liberal government has botched its promise to provide clean drinking water to Indigenous communities and has failed on its duty to provide adequate healthcare and housing for Indigenous families and children,” read a Facebook post from MP Schmale.

Some of the other politicians named to the shadow cabinet include Michelle Ferreri as Shadow Minister for Tourism, former leader Andrew Scheer as Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Communities, Michelle Rempel Garner as Shadow Minister for Natural Resources and Pierre Poilievre as Shadow Minister for Finance and Middle-Class Prosperity.
