Stabbing at Jane and Lawrence leaves Kiowa Wind McComb, 20, dead

Toronto police have charged a 35-year-old man with second-degree murder and attempted murder and are searching for one more suspect after a deadly stabbing outside a Jane Street bar.

Police said the accused was arrested after officers pulled over a taxi in the Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue West area, where the stabbing took place at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

One suspect is believed to have gotten out of the cab before the arrest.

Police say the deadly stabbing happened after four men were involved in an altercation outside Gucci's Bar and Grill. Two men were stabbed, including 20-year-old Kiowa Wind McComb who died of his injuries after suffering stab wounds to the neck and chest.

Police said the other victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Sgt. Gary Giroux, of the homicide unit, said police are reviewing video footage of the incident and are confident they will identify the second suspect.

"We're going to find you. We have some pictures of you. Seek a lawyer and come see us," he said.

McComb is the 13th homicide victim of the year in Toronto.
