JaVale McGee might not be the GOAT — OK, he most certainly is not the GOAT — but he is the GOATWART.
The Greatest Of All Time With A Rat Tail, that is.
McGee, a first-time NBA champion in his ninth season in the league, made sure to point out his unique accomplishment after the Warriors beat the Cavaliers 129-120 in Game 5 to clinch the title:

I'm the only person ever with a rat tail and a NBA championship! Let that sink in!????

We have to wonder, though: Has anybody fact-checked JaVale on this? Are we sure he has a solid claim to this ever-so-specific place in NBA history? It’s unclear how thorough McGee’s historical research on the subject was.
To be fair, though, it’s probably a safe assumption. The rat tail isn’t exactly a popular hair style, and, well, let’s just say there’s a reason why that’s the case. Just look at this thing/these things:
Earlier in the season, the triple rat tail hairdo contributed to McGee’s image as one of the league’s laughing stocks. But as the season wore on, McGee grew into an integral piece off the bench for the Warriors. And while he was rendered unplayable in the Finals because of his defense, he played a not-insignificant role in Golden State’s championship run.
