Any time Jennifer Aniston shares an Instagram post (like a steamy shower pic or an at-home workout routine) it rakes in the comments and likes. The star knows what her fans want to see. In February, Aniston took to Instagram to celebrate her 54th birthday and reflect on the occasion with a sentimental childhood photo featuring her late mother and father. Fans loved the photo of the young actress, showering The Morning Show star with love.

“Thinking about these two humans that created me as I bask in the afterglow of a beautiful birthday🎈Thank you ALL for my beautiful birthday wishes,” Aniston captioned the Instagram post. “I felt sooooo much love from so many and ALL of it is going to carry me through this wild and beautifully unknown year ahead. I love you! ❤️🌸😘🙏🏼♒️”

Fellow stars and fans alike flooded the comments section. Kate Hudson dropped a singular “❤️” emoji while Chelsea Handler wrote “Happy Birthday, you beautiful tush!!! I’m glad you are surrounded by such love.”

“Happy birthday Jen, you get more beautiful each year that passes,” one fan commented. “Happy happy happy birthday to an amazing woman,” another wrote. “I hope this and every day is filled with smiles.”

Aniston has spoken about her parents in the past, having shared the aging lesson she learned from her mother in 2021. “My mother was always so healthy and beautifully fit when I was a kid. I’ve always had that as my foundation,” she told Vogue. Her mother instilled in her that “this is about longevity”—the privilege of growing old. “It’s just sort of been a theme in my life: to enjoy the age I am and not look at aging as a negative, but as the privilege that it is,” she said in the interview. “We all age!”

This isn’t the first time Aniston has reflected on a birthday, either. Four years ago the star shared a few thoughts on reaching a milestone birthday in a discussion about turning 50 and ageism. “It’s so weird. There’s so much doom around that number,” she said in an interview with The New York Times. “I’m entering into what I feel is one of the most creatively fulfilling periods of my life … Seriously, I’ve been doing this for 30 years and I feel like it’s just about to really bloom.”

As she gets older, Aniston is prioritizing her health and wants her body to thrive. The actress shared a fresh perspective on aging in March, saying she doesn’t want to try and look like her younger self. “Listen—lovely compliment. But that’s a TV set they’re looking at,” she told USA Today. “If I tried to look the way I looked at 20, I would not really actually want to do that. It’s absolutely impossible.”

Aniston also noted in a 2019 interview with InStyle that “it’s weird” that upon turning 50 women start to hear things like ‘You look amazing for your age.’ She said: “I think we need to establish some etiquette around that dialogue and verbiage.”

We couldn’t agree more.
