Jennifer Aniston Just Pinched A Record From Meghan Markle And Prince Harry

It’s not every day a Hollywood A-lister breaks a new Guinnesss World Record, especially one that was previously held by British royalty.

However, hours after Friends actress Jennifer Aniston joined Instagram on Tuesday, the 50-year-old broke the record for the fastest time for an Instagram account to reach 1 million followers, reaching the milestone in just five hours and 16 minutes.

The star's new record beats the one previously held by the @sussexroyal account, the official Instagram account for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

After launching their account in April, weeks before the arrival of their son Archie, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reached 1 million followers in a time of five hours and 45 minutes.

Prior to that, the record belonged to the K-pop star Kang Daniel, who reached the same amount of followers in 11 hours and 36 minutes.

After news of her joining Instagram came to light – and the likes of ex-husband Justin Theroux, Reese Witherspoon and Oprah welcomed her to the social media platform in their droves – Aniston took to her account to apologise for creating sheer mayhem online.

'I swear I didn’t mean to break it... Thank you guys for the kind, glitchy welcome ❤️' the star jokingly captioned a photo of herself in a clip from her upcoming series, The Morning Show. In the video, her character slams her phone down on a table while getting her make-up done.

Since joining Instagram with a photograph of her and her Friends co-stars during a recent dinner part at friend Courteney Cox’s home, Aniston has continued to delight fans of the 1990s show.

TV personality and former Bachelor contestant, Kaitlyn Bristowe, commented on Aniston's first Instagram post and asked the question all Friends viewers wanted to be asked.

‘ARE YOU AND ROSS STILL TOGETHER!!??? [sic] the star wrote.

Aniston’s response? ‘Well, we’re on a break.’
